Soma is a director and creative known for her frequent collaborations with Catherine Hardwicke, most recently on Mafia Mamma (2022). Her work has been featured at festivals such as Sundance, Outfest, HollyShorts, and Amazon’s New Voices Film Festival. She has also shadowed directors on major television series including Homeland, Grey’s Anatomy, and Good Trouble. A former Art Director at J. Walter Thompson Jakarta, Soma transitioned into directing commercial campaigns for global brands like Google, Nike, and Chevrolet. From 2021 to 2023, she was a Paramount Viewfinder Fellow and the recipient of the inaugural CAPE Julia Gouw & Janet Yang grant. The Alliance of Women Directors named her one of “8 Directors to Watch.” Soma directed all 20 episodes of Season 3 of Snapchat’s original vertical series The Dead Girls Detective Agency, produced by Keshet Media and Insurrection Media. Her work centers on character-driven narratives and expanding Asian representation. Most recently, she co-created and directed all eight episodes of the upcoming Indonesian Netflix Original drama Still Single (2025).
