JAMES COTTEN
DIRECTOR
Originally from Arkansas/Oklahoma, An alumni of The London Film School and The Los Angeles Film School, James Cotten began his career under the legendary Roger Corman, directing his first feature, Demon Slayer, which played on SyFy for over three years. Cotten formed his company Dark Highway Films in 2005, producing his next directorial, Sugar Creek, and later Resurrection County, which he wrote to rave reviews. James directed the Action/Crime Drama THE LINE, starring Ray Liotta, Andy Garcia, Esai Morales and Danny Trejo. James has produced a number of films, including Darren Bousman’s Devil’s Carnival and Alleluia: Devil’s Carnival 2, Madison County, Hansel & Gretel Get Baked, and I Remember You. Most recently, he produced and directed the film Painted Woman, winner of 11 awards and a spotlight film at the Bentonville FIlm Festival. During his career, James has also owned and operated two post facilities, Local Hero and Imperial Creative, where he served as a post producer or VFX producer on over a hundred titles, including, Pitch Perfect, Captain Fantastic, The New Batch, and Dope.
