Cody McGlashan’s a writer/director/actor who had his breakout short GARY SCREAMS FOR YOU at TIFF and it killed at Slamdance too. He also wrote the feature version - it’s best described as a pitch black comedy with some sci-fi and fantasy elements. But there’s something nagging about it that sticks in your brain. He tends to write stories both left of center and vital; heartfelt, character-driven tales of madness, violence, and woe that explore and invite us to laugh at the depths of humanity.
